Please Note: Updated Monday, May 26, 2020 We are open for business as usual. Well, mostly usual. We hold and ship inventory locally as well as directly from manufacturers and from some marine distributors. We are doing our best to reflect inventory that is actually available, but inventory updates are slower than usual due to the changing work situations for all business. Additionally, we now have started to see longer than normal backorders from manufacturers. We recommend that if you need a product not to wait until the last minute to order, as inventory may be gone for a substantial period of time once they go on backorder. International orders may also take longer than normal to ship.
NoLand Engineering - MD33 NMEA 0183 and NMEA 2000 Engine-Vessel Monitor - Now NMEA 2000 Certified!
The MD33 is a data monitor system specifically designed for dual engine vessels (but can be used in single engine vessels). It converts rpm, analog gauge, and alarm/status(on/off) sensors into NMEA 2000 messages for display by MFD's(multi-function displays). It also accepts NMEA 0183 navigation data which it sends, along with engine data, to a PC for display and logging by our C-Port Squared software. The MD33 is compatible with most marine engine sensors whether or not gauges are present.
Setup and calibration is done via a PC-USB interface and supplied software. All analog engine and alarm connections are made to a terminal strip on the rear of the unit, while rpm and NMEA 0183 connections are made to the front terminal strip. A standard micro-C connector is provided for NMEA 2000 hookup. All data interfaces, USB, CAN, and Engine, are galvanically isolated from each other.
RPM is sensed directly from Alternator output, sending units, or ignition pulses. The user must set the number of pulses-per-revolution (ppr) for each engine. Analog (gauge) inputs can be taken from existing gauges or resistive senders which can be powered by the MD33. Analog inputs A1-A4 sense 0-20V while A5 can sense inputs up to 40V for direct sensing of Battery Voltage. Alarm/status inputs sense the presence or absensce of voltage from switches, relays, or senders. Setup and calibration software is included.
