"A Sea-Anchor
belongs there,
right next to
your life raft,
EPIRB and
survival suit:
USE IT, as your
FIRST line of
defense in heavy
weather, SO YOU
WON'T HAVE TO
USE YOUR life
raft, EPIRB or
survival
suit..." |

Commercial
fisherman have
been using
parachutes at
sea for decades.
Now, PARA-TECH
has taken a good
idea and
improved upon
the design and
construction of
these tried and
tested sea
anchors. |
| |
PARA-TECH
Sea-Anchors are
designed with
the boater in
mind. Imagine
you are at sea
facing a
FORCE-10 storm
with 20 foot
seas and you are
500 miles from a
safe harbor.
Right off your
starboard beam
is a MOORING
BUOY...you tie
up to the buoy
and ride out the
storm. Such an
experience is
yours with a
PARA-TECH
Sea-Anchor as
part of your
heavy weather
experience. |

What's The Right
Size For Your
Boat?
Sizing is
determined by
the type, length
and weight of
your boat.
Sailboats with
full keels
should choose a
sea-anchor
that’s big
enough to
overcome the
lateral
resistance of
that keel.
Powered vessels
with higher
windage and
greater
displacement may
prefer to go one
size larger than
suggested. The
accepted rule of
thumb has been
as follows:
“When in doubt,
choose a bigger
chute.” As a
general
guideline refer
to the following
chart:
